XHTML/CSS

We use the best coding practices and are proud of our extremely clean and efficient CSS and HTML. However, what we offer is not simply a transformation of a design into a coded page. Even as we code, we continue to improve the design and tweak it for its final form.

HTML5/CSS3

As the web is ever changing, so must the standards. XHTML may seem short lived but it will be around for a long time and it paved the way for a more robust standard, HTML5. As the browser market is catching up, we are starting to impliment HTML5 and CSS3 in our applications as well.

Javascript/jQuery/Ajax

Javascript effects and AJAX improve the interactivity of a page and make it feel more lively and tactile. We can do everything from small effects like fading and animations to functionality in forms and options. Javascript is generally part of projects (mainly jQuery) and used for many subtle enhancements and effects. However, our sites and pages can still be made to work flawlessly without the use of Javascript.

Content Management Systems, Backends, Etc

Making subtle changes to a website, such as textual, photos, contact information, is more cost efficient for the client to make the changes. We can impliment a custom CMS, third party, or blog into your site or bake it in from the start. We want our clients to have complete control over their website.

...but we don't just build web applications. We also build windows applications, web services, components, etc, etc. Bottom line, we love writing code!

.net framework/asp.net

The Microsoft .net platform was first released in 2002. Currently in version 4.0, the .NET Framework has become the dominant development environment for the Windows platform. At Side Creative, we have extensive experience with the .net framework and asp.net. Many of our development projects were built leveraging the .net framework and asp.net.

ASP.NET is a free web framework that enables great Web applications. Used by millions of developers, it runs some of the biggest sites in the world, including our Side Creative site.

Open Source

NAnt

When building software, not having an automated build process in place will make things problematic. But it doesn't just stop at Software. Automating repedative tasks can be applied to any kind of development. When building the factory widgets, we used NAnt to package and zip the widget files and organize them into a .gadget file. Using an automated process can save countless hours each day. NAnt is a free and open source software tool for automating software build processes.

subversion

Another successful ingredient to any software development project is proper version control. All of our projects are added to our subversion repository so that we can track changes and maintain history of the projects we work on. Subversion is an open source and cross platform software versioning and a revision control system.
